The news of a caring community

Supporting individuals as they strive to achieve a hopeful, satisfying, active, and contributing life.

32nd Annual Doug Maloney Memorial Golf Tournament

Sponsorship and teams are filling up quickly! There's still time to join us at Wiltwyck to golf for a good cause and help support the programs and services of Gateway Hudson Valley as we help adults with disabilities live fulfilled lives in their communities. Join us on September 18, 2024.

HOWARD

This is Howard who works at Gateway as one of our janitors in Custom Cleaning. He also works on several of our cleaning contracts. Gateway is a Preferred Source Employer with NYSID (New York State Industries for the Disabled) who offers equal and diverse opportunity employment for those with disabilities throughout the state.

We're proud to announce that Howard has been nominated by his supervisors for the annual William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Awards Program presented by NYSID. He is a wonderful person and hard worker who has been part of the Gateway team for many years.

Congratulations, Howard!

Summer Picnic

The first of two Ulster County Office for the Aging picnics was held at Lippman Park in Wawarsing. Gateway not only provides the meals for the county's senior mobile meal program, but also for their special events. Everyone enjoyed the summer weather, beautiful setting, prizes, and Hawiian theme!

If you are interested in learning how you, or someone you know, can receive home delivered meals, please click on the button below or call (845) 334-5125.

Mental Health Awareness Night with the HV Renegades

Gateway was invited to the Hudson Valley Renegades Mental Health Awareness Night at Heritage Financial Park on August 13 to talk to attendees about the services we provide. It was a beautiful evening and the 'Gades hit some spectacular home runs! We are thankful for the contributions and community efforts that this organization makes to foster health and activism.

Speaking of a night out at the ballgame...

Gateway employees enjoyed a special night out in Saugerties to watch The Stallions play...

Disabilities Awareness Parade with RCAL & Harambee

We had a blast with RCAL and Harambee at their 2nd annual Disabilities Awareness Parade on July 20. Our Senior Mobile Meals van was living its best day, all dressed up for the event. This is an important event to bring the community together, to meet each other, share resources and ideas. Thank you to Keegan Ales and People's Place for letting us park and table in their parking lots. We look forward to next year's parade!

Employees Recognizing Employees

The Kudos Card Program was launched in April of this year by Gateway's Human Resources department.

Employees were encouraged to present a Kudos Card to any other employee to show their appreciation for things like pitching in or being a great team player.  The Kudos Card can be presented to one’s manager, employee, or colleague.  Each quarter, HR draws from the submitted Kudos Cards submitted for prize winners. The most recent winner received a $50 gift card!

Kudos Card Recipients are recognized on the employee web portal for a quick reference, but we wanted to publicly recognize those employees here. Thank you for your exceptional work!
