Gateway goes to Albany

CEO and President of Gateway, Stephanie Turco and Brian Schneider, EVP & CFO were invited to the Governor's Mansion in Albany to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 27. It was a lovely event with other community leaders and disability rights advocates. Thank you to the Governor's office and to photographer Mike Groll.

Sensory Safe Space at the UC Fair

The Ulster County Fair is in full swing (Aug. 1-6) and is offering a Sensory Safe Space for those that might need a break or assistance with the amount of sensory exposure at the fair. They offer noise reduction headphones and a space to relax. Hopefully more fairs and events will offer these types of spaces.

Creative Therapy

Creative therapy is a tool to help interpret, express, and resolve emotions and thoughts. Students work with therapists to explore their emotions, understand conflicts or feelings that are causing them distress, and use art to help them find resolutions to those issues. Gateway offers Creative Therapy classes in our PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) program. Creating something different or beautiful can change the way you feel!
