Ulster County Seniors celebrate the Holiday Season together

Another joyful gathering for a holiday meal with our Ulster County seniors at the Hurley Reformed Church on December 6 with music, smiles, and infinite dessert! We are thankful for our Ulster County seniors, and that we are able to serve them a delicious meal together with the Ulster County Office for the Aging (OFA) team. Socializing and personal interaction are just as healthy as the nutrients in the delicious food that was served by Food Services Manager Diane Reeder. If you or someone you know would benefit from home delivered meals or time with others at the Community Cafes, please contact us at 845-331-2180. 

 

Holiday Managers Meeting

Our managers meet quarterly to have lunch together and catch up on information and trainings, but we always save the last one of the year for some fun holiday festivities with great food and a gift swap. It's always a joyful time! Join our team to work with a caring team that helps our community.  

 

PROS Open House 

Our PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) program hosted an open house earlier this month to showcase their welcoming space with the community along with tasty treats created by our own Food Services Manager. Thank you to those who attended. We hope you found it informational and interesting. We look forward to hosting more in the future.

 

Celebrating one of our own 

We caught up with Howard Snyder in our Custom Cleaning department to honor him for his NYSID (New York State Industries for the Disabled) Outstanding Performance Award. Gateway works with NYSID to help provide adults with disabilities meaningful employment with private and public sector businesses. Howard works directly with Gateway in our Custom Cleaning department that provides professional cleaning services to local businesses. All of us at Gateway love working with Howard with his great personality, work ethic, and smile.

Surviving the Holidays

The holidays are not always a happy, magical time for everyone. Some people are lonely, depressed, or very stressed during this season. It's okay to have these feelings but recognizing them and taking steps to manage the feelings with this toolkit that our PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) staff shares annually is a good way to survive and possibly enjoy this season.   

 

Thank you, Hannaford Kingston Plaza!

The Hannaford Store Leadership Team selected Gateway Hudson Valley as the November 2024 Community Bag Program Nonprofit Partner. This means Gateway received a $1 donation for every $2.50 reusable Community Bag sold during November 2024 at the Hannaford Kingston Plaza, 100 Plaza Road, Kingston, NY. 

Close to $80 was raised in November. We are always honored to partner with our local business members, especially when it helps the environment as well. 

 

Free Transportation Service

Did you know that Gateway offers a FREE transportation service around the Kingston and Port Ewen area? Look for a van with the Gateway logo for a free ride, Monday - Friday (excluding holidays).
