We’re beyond grateful and incredibly proud to announce our recent achievements! Our dedication to creating healthier communities has been recognized by CHRONOGRAM magazine readers with FIRST PLACE for Affordable Housing Organization and Public Health Organization – a distinction we’ve now held for three years running. This year, we’re also delighted to be honored with SECOND PLACE for Food Justice Organization, highlighting our crucial work in ensuring seniors aging in place have access to nutritious food. A special shout-out to our President & CEO, Stephanie Turco, who was also recognized as SECOND PLACE for Public Health Advocate/Activist for her tireless efforts.

In addition, our own Diane Reeder, Food Services Manager and owner of Kingston Candy Bar, was awarded FIRST place for Food Justice Advocate/Activist.

We hope to see you at Heritage Financial Field on that evening to help support the programs and services that enable adults with mental and physical disabilities, and those in recovery, to thrive in their communities.

We're back at Wiltwyck Golf Club on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 for the Doug Maloney Memorial Golf Tournament. We hope to see you out on the course for all the fun!

PROS short film released

Gateway has been working with G. Steve Jordan Films to help tell the story of our programming. Our newest short film is about our Personalized Recovery Oriented Services program and the positive change it can have on a person, family, and community. 

 

Dog Days of Summer

Mira the Dog from the Alliance of Therapy Dogs returned to visit the Gateway headquarters just before the July Fourth holiday. Students and staff from PROS and Day Hab were so happy to see her, and to give her pets and praise. Animals can reduce stress and anxiety for people, and people can do the same for their pets by showing love and appreciation.

On July 5th, Gateway attended the 1st Annual Pet Spangled Party in Uptown Kingston and enjoyed meeting some beautiful and pampered hot dogs and their people. It's important during these warm summer days to stay hydrated, seek shade or air-conditioning, and minimize time on hot dark surfaces like asphalt. Wishing everyone a safe and fun summer.

It's PICNIC season!

Gateway and the Ulster County Office for the Aging are looking forward to the upcoming summer picnics! Make sure you make your reservations for either Lippman Park on July 24 or Robert Post Park on August 21. Reserve your spot to enjoy Gateway's good food with good friends by calling the UC Office for Aging at 845-340-3456.

 

Employees Nominating Employees

The Kudos Card Program was launched in April 2024 by Gateway's Human Resources department.

Employees are encouraged to present a Kudos Card to any other employee to show their appreciation for things like pitching in or being a great team player.  The Kudos Card can be presented to one’s manager, employee, or colleague.  Each quarter, HR draws from the submitted Kudos Cards to give the winner a $50 gift card! 

Kudos Card Recipients are recognized on the employee web portal for a quick reference, but we wanted to publicly recognize those employees here for the April to June 2025 time period. Thank you for your exceptional work!
