The news of a caring community

Supporting individuals as they strive to achieve a hopeful, satisfying, active, and contributing life.

32nd Annual Doug Maloney Memorial Golf Tournament

We had another very successful golf tournament at Wiltwyck Golf Club this year thanks to our golfers, sponsors like NYSID, Central Hudson, Ulster Federal Credit Union, Marshall + Sterling, and so many others.  Someone was 28" from winning Romeo's Hole-In-One Jeep, golfers sang for prizes at the karaoke tee and played games at the casino-themed tee for chances to win great prizes. We're already looking forward to next year!

Heart of Kingston - Go All in for Mental Health

The PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) team enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to be in the community at the Heart of Midtown Kingston/Rewind Kingston Street Festival where they featured their newsletter and painted rocks, a very relaxing activity. Our PROS program has many activities and classes to help manage mental illness in all its forms in a caring community. Come visit us or get more information....

Emilia's Awakening by Victoria Starr-Sheeley

We are so proud of Victoria Starr-Sheeley on her book "Emilia's Awakening" and her TikTok page where she does readings at StoriesByVictoria.

Victoria has been attending Gateway's PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) since 2022. She independently wrote and published her book, Emilia's Awakening, which was influenced by her mental health recovery. The PROS team at Gateway is proud to support Victoria in her journey, and grateful to be recognized in her publishing. She will be conducting readings at PROS and Barnes & Noble in the near future. Congratulations, Victoria!

Advocating for Ulster County Seniors

Late in August, Keith Blair, Gateway's Vice President of Business Services and Development and Sue Koppenhaver, Director of the Ulster County Office for the Aging spoke to the UC Legislature to describe the important work on the Senior Mobile Meals program. Gateway works with the Office for the Aging to deliver food directly to those aging in-place, providing food and support to Community Cafe sites around the county, and catering special events, like the "Senior Prom," summer barbeques, and holiday meals. Not only does this relationship provide food, it provides community, a support network, and eyes-on members of our community that may not be as social as they once were.

If you or someone you know might benefit from Senior Mobile Meals or Home Delivered Meals, please contact Gateway at (845) 334-5125.

Employees Recognizing Employees

The Kudos Card Program was launched in April of this year by Gateway's Human Resources department.

Employees were encouraged to present a Kudos Card to any other employee to show their appreciation for things like pitching in or being a great team player.  The Kudos Card can be presented to one’s manager, employee, or colleague.  Each quarter, HR draws from the submitted Kudos Cards submitted for prize winners. The most recent winner received a $50 gift card!

Kudos Card Recipients are recognized on the employee web portal for a quick reference, but we wanted to publicly recognize those employees here. Thank you for your exceptional work!
